Today’s Weather: Hot, Sunny, 40% - 60% Chance For Heavy Showers; 34°C Max
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect hot and sunny conditions today (Saturday 24th October, 2026), interrupted by cloudier periods with a few showers. There is a medium (40% to 60%) chance of heavy showers/thunderstorm activity, favouring (but not confined to) Western regions of Trinidad and Northeastern regions of Tobago. Initially fair conditions tonight will become increasingly cloudy with a few showers after Midnight. There is a medium (60%) chance of heavy showers/thunderstorm activity over a few areas.
In the event of heavy showers/thunderstorms, gusty winds are likely and street/flash flooding is also likely in areas so prone.
The forecast maximum temperature today will be 34°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 33°C at Crown Point in Tobago.
Seas are slight to moderate with waves 1m to 1.5m in open waters and below 1m and choppy during showers in sheltered areas.
Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons planning to spend time outdoors today should stay hydrated, wear lightweight, breathable clothing, apply sunscreen, and seek shade where possible, as hot and sunny conditions are expected with maximum temperatures of 34°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 33°C at Crown Point in Tobago. Keep an umbrella or raincoat handy and monitor updates from the TTMS, as there is a medium (40% to 60%) chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms, particularly across Western Trinidad and Northeastern Tobago, although other areas may also be affected. Be alert for gusty winds and avoid crossing flooded streets or walking or driving through areas with rapidly rising water. If thunder is heard, seek shelter inside a sturdy building or an enclosed vehicle and avoid open areas, tall trees and exposed locations. Those planning marine activities should exercise caution, as seas may become choppy during showers, especially in sheltered areas, where waves are expected to remain below 1m. Since showers and thunderstorms are also likely to develop after Midnight, secure loose outdoor items and remain alert to changing weather conditions into the night.
