Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons planning to be outdoors today should stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, apply sunscreen, and take advantage of shaded areas to minimize exposure to the hot conditions. Keep an umbrella or raincoat handy, as showers and thunderstorms are possible, with a medium (60%) chance of heavy rainfall and the potential for gusty winds. Be alert for street and flash flooding in flood-prone areas, and avoid crossing flooded roads or drains. Those travelling should allow extra time for possible weather-related delays and monitor updates from the TTMS. Persons planning outdoor activities or marine excursions should exercise caution, as sheltered coastal waters may become choppy during showers. Since cloudiness and rainfall are expected to increase after Midnight, with a 40% to 60% chance of thunderstorms overnight, secure loose outdoor items and make the necessary preparations ahead of worsening conditions.
