Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons planning to be outdoors today should carry an umbrella or waterproof clothing and remain alert for occasional showers and thunderstorms, as there is a high (70%) chance of thunderstorm activity over a few areas. Be prepared for gusty winds and possible street and flash flooding, particularly in flood-prone locations, and avoid crossing flooded roads or waterways. With maximum temperatures reaching 31°C at both Piarco and Crown Point, stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, and take breaks in shaded or cool areas. Although conditions are expected to become more settled by evening, showers and isolated heavy showers or thunderstorms may persist overnight, so continue monitoring updates from the TTMS. Sea bathers, fishers and other marine users should exercise caution, as moderate seas with waves of 1.5m to 2m are expected in open waters, while sheltered areas may become choppy during showers.
