WASA Flushing Underway To Clear Water Discolouration

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers that flushing is underway in affected areas to clear temporary water discolouration following the recent scheduled maintenance shutdown at the Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago (Desalcott).

In a Media Release this afternoon, WASA said temporary adjustments were made to the water transmission system during the shutdown. “As the system returned to normal operations and water pressures were restored, some customers experienced discoloured water.”

WASA is assuring customers that the water remains safe for domestic use.

Customers experiencing discolouration are advised to run their taps for a few minutes to flush their internal plumbing systems.

For further information or assistance, customers may contact WASA’s Customer Contact Centre, toll-free at 800-4420 or 800-4426, use the WASA Services App, or access the Customer Portal through WASA’s website.

WASA said it “apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.”

Please be guided accordingly.
