‘SOE Nothing’ — Prominent Attorney Shot Dead In Hail of Bullets After Attending Church In POS

A man is dead following a shooting incident outside a Church in Port-of-Spain last night (Tuesday 31st December, 2024) — during the first full twenty-four (24) hours of the State of Emergency. The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Randall Hector of Iris Avenue, Glencoe, a prominent Attorney-at-Law and former Head of Legal Services at the Strategic Services Agency (SSA). Hector was also a former prosecutor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). He was gunned down after attending Church on New Year's Eve.

Hector was also a special prosecutor assigned to prosecute Calvin Lee, aka ‘Tyson,’ who is currently before the Court on alleged gang-related charges, including being the leader of the ‘6ixx’ criminal gang.

According to reports, Hector had attended an Old Year's Night service at the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was walking towards his car, along Stanmore Avenue, around 7:30 PM, when two (2) vehicles, a black SUV and a Nissan B15, pulled alongside him. Occupants of the vehicles opened fire, hitting Hector several times about the body, and then sped off.

Hector collapsed, and was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (POSGH) for emergency medical treatment. However, he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

A team of Officers responded to the scene, led by Snr. Sup. Thom.


Crime scene investigators recovered fifteen (15) spent 9mm shells.

Police believe Hector’s murder may have links to recent gang activities in the area.

A State of Emergency was proclaimed on Monday (30th December, 2024), after the Government said it received information by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) of imminent reprisal killings. This followed a mass shooting in Laventille on 29th December, 2024, which claimed the lives of five (5) people, and a shooting on 28th December, 2024, which occurred outside the Besson Street Police Station, leaving one (1) man dead.

Investigations are continuing.

22-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Morvant — Face Disfigured In Hail of Bullets

A man is dead following a brutal shooting incident in Morvant early this morning (Tuesday 8th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Tylan Hinkson, aka “Papa,”of Redwood Street, Morvant. His face was said to have been disfigured in a hail of bullets from a high-powered weapon. According to reports, Hinkson was ambushed and shot near Second Caledonia Road, in the vicinity of Juman, during the early morning hours. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Officers found Hinkson lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds about the body, including severe injuries to his face, hands and legs. A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned, who pronounced Hinkson dead at the scene. Police have not yet established a motive for this murder. 19-Year-Old Driver Dies In Cocorite Crash — Passenger Hospitalized

A man is dead and another listed in serious condition at Hospital following a horrific road traffic accident in Cocorite on Wednesday night (9th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Binyameen Rahaman of Warren Road, Cunupia. The body of a missing pensioner was found under large suitcases at a house in Curepe on Monday afternoon (7th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 75-year-old Chunilal Bandoo of Mohammed Lane, Mc Inroy Street, Curepe. He was the father of a daughter, who resides in the United States. A man wanted for extortion is dead following a Police-involved shooting incident in Carapichaima early Thursday morning (10th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Riyad Sean Ali of Orangefield Settlement, Carapichaima. His elderly mother and brother were reportedly detained and firearms seized at the scene. BODY of Woman Found Inside Abandoned Security Booth In San Fernando — Police Investigating

The decomposing body of a woman was found inside an abandoned security booth on the compound of an old panyard in San Fernando on Wednesday morning (16th September, 2026). While unconfirmed, the deceased is believed to be Marcia Thomas Singh, who residents said appeared to be in her 60s. She had been apparently residing in the security booth for some time. TWO (2) Prison Officers And Inmate At Golden Grove Charged With Conspiracy Offences

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), two (2) Prison Officers attached to the Golden Grove Prison, Arouca, and an inmate on remand for murder, were expected to appear before a Master of the High Court on Thursday (17th September, 2026), charged with multiple offences, arising out of an attempt to smuggle illegal contraband into the prison in August 2026. The TTPS said on 24th August, 2026, a female Prison Officer (PO) was searched by Officers at the Golden Grove Prison, after she attempted to enter the premises with quantities of cannabis, cigarettes and other contraband items. She was later handed over to members of the DCP Operations Team, who commenced a 3-week long, intense investigation.
