Galil Rifle Marked With ‘De Venezuela’ Seized In Couva

An intelligence-led operation conducted by the Central Division Gang Unit between 9:00 AM and 11:55 AM on Wednesday (26th February, 2025), resulted in the seizure of a firearm and ammunition.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), based on information received, Officers proceeded to an empty lot on the Eastern side of Binda Street, Orange Valley, Couva. During the search, a white feedbag was discovered. Upon further inspection, Officers found a black Galil rifle marked with “De Venezuela” and ten (10) rounds of 7.62 ammunition. The items were seized and taken to the Police Station for further investigation.

The operation was co-ordinated by Senior Superintendent Carty, with support from Officers of the Central Division Gang Unit.
