A man drowned while bathing off the North coast at Tyrico Bay on Sunday afternoon (8th March, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 62-year-old Anthony Daniel of Upper Thomasine Street, Laventille. He died after being pulled under by a wave.

According to reports, Daniel arrived at the beach sometime between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Approximately half an hour later, he entered the water and began bathing, around twenty (20) to thirty (30) feet from the shoreline.

However, while in the water, a wave reportedly pulled him under.

Bystanders managed to pull Daniel back to shore several minutes later, where CPR was immediately started in an effort to revive him.
