2026 School Supplies And Book Grant: Payment And Cheque-Collection Arrangements

The Ministry of Education is advising the public that the distribution of payments under the 2026 School Supplies and Book Grant Initiative will commence on Wednesday (2nd September, 2026).

Final verification checks have been completed, and the programme has now transitioned to the disbursement phase.

In a Media Release today (Tuesday 1st September, 2026), the Ministry notes that successful applicants will receive an email confirming that their application has been approved.

According to the Ministry, “Further correspondence will be issued once payments have been deposited into the bank accounts of beneficiaries who provided banking information. Applicants receiving payment by cheque will receive a subsequent email advising them of the relevant collection arrangements.”

For those receiving disbursements via cheque, collection will be available at Education District Offices nationwide (see below) between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

A valid form of identification — National Identification Card, Driver’s Permit, or Passport — will be required for collection.

Applicants are encouraged to monitor their status at bookgrant.moe.gov.tt for updates regarding the outcome of their application and payment arrangements.

The Ministry added that it is also “engaging financial institutions to facilitate the timely crediting of payments to approved beneficiaries who have provided banking information.”

The Media Release concluded by saying, “The Ministry thanks applicants for their patience and co-operation as the remaining payments are processed.”

More on this as it becomes available.
