Persons heading outdoors today should be prepared for periods of cloudiness and showers, particularly during the afternoon, with a 60% to 70% chance of isolated thunderstorms. Those travelling or spending time outdoors in the Western half of Trinidad should exercise extra caution between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM due to the Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert, and it is advisable to carry an umbrella or rain gear and avoid low-lying or flood-prone areas, as street and isolated flash flooding may occur during heavy downpours. Temperatures will be hot, reaching 33°C at Piarco and 32°C at Crown Point, so stay hydrated and take breaks from direct sun. Persons heading to the coast should also be mindful of choppy conditions near showers, although seas will generally be slight to moderate.
